Lilly Teng’s extensive experience in North Asia and North America covers conventional and renewable energy, technology, and infrastructure as a commercial, legal, and regulatory expert.
Lilly began her career in 1982 working for USA companies, focusing on natural gas transportation and marketing. In 1988, she joined Enron Law as Senior Counsel for the natural gas and power divisions, then returned to the commercial world as Director for Enron International, covering China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. In 1998, the development world beckoned and she left Enron to represent private equity and multinational corporations such as Texaco for investments in China. From 2002 to 2005, she was General Counsel of Suez North America’s Law Department for marketing, trading, and LNG development. In 2005, she returned to independent advisory, representing Asian and America energy companies such as Chevron, Goldwind Science & Technology, XEMC New Energy, Green Power Investment, Diamond Generating, and BlackBrush Oil & Gas. She joined AWR Lloyd in 2010 and was a senior partner with the firm until co-founding Orchid Group.
Lilly has degrees in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Texas at Austin (BBA) and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from South Texas College of Law in Houston. Lilly is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
